Mass Protest Ride - Canberra

Sat, 27 Apr 2024
16:00 - 17:00

Come and join our protest mass ride as we call for separated bike-only paths along Northbourne Avenue and highlight the need for safe, convenient cycling infrastructure all over Canberra. We will be marking the 20th anniversary of the installation of the first on-road cycle lanes in Canberra on Northbourne Avenue.

We will ride as a collective group starting in Haig Park and travelling along Northbourne Avenue to London Circuit, then to Mouat/Antill Streets and back to Haig Park. We will be riding in the shoulder and left hand lane obeying the traffic lights and road rules. Our ride leader John is happy to do a second loop for those who want an extra ride. Map of the route below and on ride GPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45654711

We need many people to make a decent spectacle and be seen as a protest ride. Please if possible have a flashing red tail light.

Please register so that we can assess the numbers before the start.
Bring your family, friends and anyone who has a bike and is interested in safe cycling infrastructure.
