Join us for this easy social ride.
This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure.
Route
Start Point: Meet on Elm Avenue off Robert Boden Grove, behind the Yarralumla Nursery. It’s a peaceful spot with shady parking under the trees – the perfect launch point for a lovely morning ride! (Note: Elm Avenue is unnamed on Apple Maps but shows up on Google Maps.)
We’ll cruise along dedicated bike paths the whole way, with just a couple of road crossings (all at traffic lights). The route winds west around Lake Burley Griffin, then out to Weston Creek alongside the river. From there, we loop south around the back of Cooleman Court, then head east toward Woden. Just before reaching Woden, we’ll turn north again and follow the bike paths back through Curtin and toward the lake at Yarralumla.
🚨 Optional detour: If time and energy allow, we’ll add a peaceful spin around the Yarralumla peninsula before capping off the morning with well-earned coffee and morning tea at the Yarralumla Nursery café.
🛣️ Distance: ~22km (or 18km if we skip the peninsula)
🌳 Vibes: Relaxed, social, and scenic
☕ Finish: Morning tea & chats in the garden cafe
