Easy Social Rides June 7 2025 (Gungahlin Wetlands Loop)

Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 1:30pm but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Tilley’s Café, Lyneham Shops Join us for a relaxing and scenic 24.9km ride starting from Tilley’s Café in Lyneham. We’ll follow peaceful bike paths north to Gungahlin, where we’ll enjoy the views as we wind around Yerrabi Ponds. From there, we’ll follow the Horse Park Drive bike path, turning off to explore the tranquil wetlands in Harrison and Franklin. After soaking up the sights, we’ll retrace our path back to Lyneham, finishing where we started. The ride will take about 1.5 hours at a gentle pace, with a few relaxed street crossings along the way. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Forde Shops – Corner of Amy Ackman Street and Francis Forde Boulevard (Parking available behind the shops via Zakharov Avenue, or near Burgmann School at Hurrell Street and Francis Forde Boulevard) Join us for a gentle 15.2km ramble through some of the loveliest green corridors in Ngunnawal. Starting from Forde Shops, we’ll follow shared bike paths through Forde, Amaroo, Ngunnawal, and Moncrieff, enjoying peaceful surrounds and using underpasses wherever possible for a relaxed ride experience. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Treasury Car Park, Langton Crescent, Barton Join us for a scenic and social 17.5km ride starting from the Treasury car park in Barton. We’ll cruise past iconic landmarks like the National Library and Portrait Gallery, then wind our way through the charming streets lined with autumn colours. The route takes us by the historic Kurrajong and Brassey Hotels, through Barton, Manuka, and Griffith, before reaching the vibrant Kingston Foreshore. From there, we’ll follow the lake’s edge to the National Archives Constitution Café for a relaxing coffee stop. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Join us for a scenic and social 28km ride starting from Cafe Curio by Lake Burley Griffin (near Blundells Cottage). We’ll pedal through the leafy streets of Reid, explore the new Garden to City bike path in Braddon, and follow smooth paths through Dickson, across Northbourne Ave, and onto the peaceful Sullivans Creek bike path.  From there, we take on a gentle incline through O'Connor and the nature reserve up to the AIS, then enjoy the beautiful Belconnen and Bindubi bike paths before gliding downhill to the lake. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: We begin at Wildbark and head south through Throsby and Harrison, following bike paths past Mapleton Avenue Pond and into Franklin. We continue through Gungahlin Town Centre, then ride past Yerrabi Pond into Amaroo, Bonner, and Forde. From there, it’s a gentle roll back to Throsby, mostly using underpasses to avoid traffic. There’s one very gentle hill on the way, but overall, the ride is flat, smooth, and scenic – perfect for riders easing back into group cycling or just looking for a peaceful ride through Canberra’s north. 🛣️ Distance: 20.5km (loop route) 🌳 Vibes: Relaxed, social, and scenic ☕ Finish: Café stop back at Wildbark! Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Ride start point is at Tuggeranong Sea Scouts Hall, Mortimer Lewis Drive,Greenway. We’ll roll out along the lake path, head under the Soward Way Bridge, and into Oxley via the underpass. From there, we continue south following Tuggeranong Creek, through Isabella Plains and Conder, past Isabella Pond, and under Tharwa Drive into Gordon. The path leads us to our halfway stop at Point Hut Pond Park (with toilets available). On the return, we’ll follow the C4 path along Tharwa Drive, back toward the Tuggeranong Town Centre where we’ll stop for a well-earned café break. Elm Avenue off Robert Boden Grove

Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Start Point: Meet on Elm Avenue off Robert Boden Grove, behind the Yarralumla Nursery. It’s a peaceful spot with shady parking under the trees – the perfect launch point for a lovely morning ride! (Note: Elm Avenue is unnamed on Apple Maps but shows up on Google Maps.) We’ll cruise along dedicated bike paths the whole way, with just a couple of road crossings (all at traffic lights). The route winds west around Lake Burley Griffin, then out to Weston Creek alongside the river. From there, we loop south around the back of Cooleman Court, then head east toward Woden. Just before reaching Woden, we’ll turn north again and follow the bike paths back through Curtin and toward the lake at Yarralumla. 🚨 Optional detour: If time and energy allow, we’ll add a peaceful spin around the Yarralumla peninsula before capping off the morning with well-earned coffee and morning tea at the Yarralumla Nursery café. 🛣️ Distance: ~22km (or 18km if we skip the peninsula) 🌳 Vibes: Relaxed, social, and scenic ☕ Finish: Morning tea & chats in the garden cafe See the map here. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Meet at Garyowen Drive, Black Mountain Peninsula. The toilets are nearby. Cycle along the bike path to Sullivan’s Creek and north through the ANU and Turner. Cross Northbourne Avenue at the traffic lights and head towards Dickson. We’ll travel alongside Philip Ave on the dirt track to Duffy St, which is a quiet street and along Limestone Ave on the footpath. We’ll cross over from the Australian War Memorial and cycle beside the service road parallel to Anzac Parade and over to Lake Burley Griffin. We’ll follow the cycle path back to Black Mountain Peninsula and coffee will be at Cafe Sosta. See the map here. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Starting point: Dickson Library, Antill Street, Dickson. The route leaves Dickson Library and rides through lower Downer to the netball courts, following along Moat St and under the Barton Highway along the Gungahlin Grasslands to Franklin then along the creek line to Franklin. It then weaves up to Throsby and along the Mulligans Flat fence line and back to Kenny before rolling past Mitchell, EPIC and into Upper Downer followed by the cafe stop at Gang Gang in Downer. This ride is mostly on cycle paths with a few hundred metres on quiet suburban roads. There’s a toilet stop after 45 mins at Wildbark Cafe and total ride approx 80 minutes. Join us for this easy social ride. This ride starts at 9:00 am but we ask you to please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure. Route Starting point: opposite the Carillion bridge in Kings Park. Starting there & travelling to Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Kingston, & to NGA. Then turn left and through parallel to rose gardens. Cycle up to Parliament House & descend down the back path to Nara Peace park. Over Commonwealth bridge & past museum to cycle through the ANU. Up and over city hill & down Constitution Ave. Coffee stop at ‘Cat Bird’ cafe on Constitution Ave. then return to Carillion. Total trip 22km.
